The NetEase Fuxi Lab is the first AI institute focusing on games in China. It uses cutting-edge technologies to reshape the players’ experience. The massive data and virtual environment provided by the game platform also enables the company to boost the development of AI research.

Renjei Li explains why gaming is a great scenario for AI and walks you through recent research in the future of AI games involving reinforcement learning, natural language processing (NLP), computer vision and graphics, and user personas and virtual humans.

NetEase Fuxi Lab

Renjie Li is the head of NetEase Fuxi Lab, the first AI research institute focusing on games in China. Previously, Renjie was the head of data (data architecture, data science, and artificial intelligence) at Riot Games, where he built the Data Department from scratch. He holds a PhD from the University of Rochester and a BS from the Special Class for Gifted Young at the University of Science and Technology of China.
